Counsellor and psychotherapist Hampshire and Surrey borders.
Farnham, Godalming, Guildford.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, I am able to support existing and new clients via secure video on WhatsApp, Zoom or by phone. You might be feeling anxious or isolated at this uncertain time? You are welcome to call or email for a free 20 minute consultation.

I am a qualified and professionally trained counsellor/psychotherapist, based in Farnham, Surrey. I have experience of working with both adults and teenagers 16+ with issues such as depression, generalised anxiety disorder, stress, self-esteem, bereavement, relationship and family dynamics. I offer online counselling as well as face to face in a calm environment, with an open and compassionate approach.

What happens in counselling?

People often feel scared or worried about making that first phone call or their first visit to counselling, it is completely 'normal' to feel concerned about sharing personal thoughts with a stranger, but seeking professional help can make a real difference to what is happening for you now and in the future.

I will welcome you with warmth and understanding to a time that is solely for you, where you can talk about whatever you wish, without feeling judged; you might be feeling sad, confused, anxious or angry. Any feelings you may have, you can bring to counselling and I will listen. Often, it is helpful to talk to someone who has no personal or emotional connection to you and you have the reassurance that I am a trained professional.

The heaviest burdens we carry, are the thoughts in our head. Feeling truly heard and sharing our distress with another can help us to feel lighter, like releasing a heavy load.

Do you feel as if thoughts in your head are spinning round and round and it's hard to make sense of them? You can share these thoughts with me and together we can work towards helping you understand them and yourself better. This understanding can feel both enlightening and empowering and can affect how you feel about yourself and the relationships around you.

"I profoundly believe that it is hope that enables us to turn our life around" Julia Samuel.

Why counselling?

As a psychotherapist, I was drawn into the counselling world having supported young people with a variety of special needs for 10 years. I wanted to nurture the unique and special nature of that one to one relationship. I am passionate about the benefits of talking therapy. In my mind, there is nothing more powerful than two people sitting opposite each other in a room; one person being truly listened to, without judgement or criticism.
