I am a qualified and professionally trained counsellor psychotherapist, based in Farnham and Haslemere, Surrey. I have experience of working with both adults and teenagers 16+ with issues such as depression, generalised anxiety disorder, stress, low self-esteem, bereavement, relationship issues and family dynamics. I offer online counselling as well as in person, in a calm and welcoming environment.

Please click here to see my 'Testimonials' page for feedback from people I have previously worked with, so you can see how my talking therapy support has been helpful to them.

You might feel worried or unsure about starting psychotherapy and sometimes just making the decision to ask for help can feel like a big, scary step. Counselling can help you become more in touch with yourself and the relationships that are important to you. It can help you shed light on why you are feeling the way you are and work towards any desired changes.

"Growing up around a lot of unpredictability, Katy's constant understanding and calm approach was very soothing to me. My regular sessions became a structured and safe experience where I was able to talk about whatever I needed to on that day." E.P

When you tell me about you, it helps me understand what it is like being you. I am not a friend or a family member; I am here to listen to you as it comes; unfiltered and without judgement. Part of my role is to reflect back what I see and hear and to offer a different perspective - so you can see with fresh eyes. This insight can help you see patterns or coping mechanisms that may not be helpful to you now. The development of this self awareness can be the catalyst to change. You can move from a place of feeling anxious, sad, confused or stuck, to finding some clarity on why you got here and together we can explore how you would like that to be different.

"Counselling has helped as I feel it gave me a whole different perspective on things. It showed me that it was ok to feel how I felt and remind me how much I needed to talk to others and be open." E.B

Why counselling?
As a counsellor, I was drawn into psychotherapy having supported young people with a variety of special needs, including autism and Asperger’s, for 10 years. I wanted to nurture the unique and special nature of that one to one relationship. I am passionate about the benefits of talking therapy. In my mind, there is nothing more powerful than two people sitting opposite each other in a room; one person being truly listened to, without judgement or criticism.

Who I See
I offer counselling to individuals online and face to face. I work with adults and teenagers/young people 16+ for both long and short term work.

If you are looking for warm and professional counselling support, we can begin this journey together. I am available for face to face and online appointments; daytime and limited evenings. It is really important that you feel comfortable with me, so email, text or call for a free 20 minute telephone consultation to help you make that decision. I look forward to hearing from you.
